Well here are some pics of Stevie Richards, now I know a few of you may be saying - who, what, why? This was the guy who started the first ever ECW match off! Stevie is one of those guys I enjoy to watch as he makes me laugh, damn that Big Show for pinching his gimmick.
Check Stevie's article (Gettin' Heat) out every month in the WWF Magazine!
Name: Michael Manna
D.O.B: October 9th 1971
Resides: Philaalphia PA.
He made his Pro Wrestling debut as 'Steve' Richards on February 25th 1992 against Jimmy Jannetty at the first ECW event.
Stevie has been one of the most colourful wrestlers in the business. He has been under many a name: The King Of Swing, Big Stevie Cool, Baron Von Stevie, Stevie the Body, Stevie Flamingo, Stevie Polo etc etc. At ECW he 'played' at being a knockoff of Shawn Michaels to a clueless putz. He is the innovator of parody gimmicks which took him to being the leader of Blue World Order (bWo), and he has even been a top contender to the ECW World Title.
In-between the years 1992 - 1997 Stevie was part of the promotion ECW, in June 1997 he went to WCW with broken vertebrae (ouch!). Within that time in ECW he had brought Raven into the promotion as his 'master' in 1995, held the tag team titles with Raven, brought Francine into the fold (to disgust to Beulah and Raven). He has been in a Man vs. Woman cage match against Luna Vachon - and lost! Stevie was special guest referee when Beulah and Francine went at it, he turns on his girlfriend, giving her the Steviekick to assist Beulah. He participated in a 'Loser has to wear a dress match', which he loses, but Jason wears the dress for Stevie! In November of 1996, Stevie begins the bWo (parodies WCW's nWo), members included Big Stevie Cool (obviously Stevie), Blue Meanie as Da Blue Guy, and Nova as Hollywood Nova.
May 1997, Terry Funk drops a guardrail on the back of Stevie's neck causing transient quadriplegia (what a mouth full - but basically means he lost the feeling in his legs). Stevie also suffered six (six!!) broken noses (and we thought Test had it tough! :0)).
In June of 1997, Stevie had his last ECW appearance and left for WCW. Stevie only stays with WCW until November '97. Stevie then returns to ECW on November 30th at November to Remember, assisting Rob Van Dam with a win over Tommy Dreamer.
In Decmber '97 Stevie graps a win against Chris Chetti, but experiences numbness, he then seeks medical attention, and undergoes serious surgery on his neck to repair the damage. Bone is taken from his hip to repair the vertebrae. Stevie still has disc damage which could get a little better if he takes care of himself, but he will still experience pain throughout his life.
Stevie returned to action in May 1998, and wins the UCW Heavyweight Belt. In April 1999 Stevie wins the NWA 2000 World Heavyweight Tournament. In August 1999 Stevie debuts on WWF Sunday Night HeAT (Ya, I can see him on normal TV!) helping the Blue Meanie who was facing Al Snow.
In November 1999, Chris Jericho throws Stevie from the ring, and Stevie suffers a broken foot, Stevie yet again had to undergo surgery to have a screw inserted.
Well Stevie - sorry Steven is now making waves in the WWF as he takes the ho's and the tables away from ringside! Hell he can take me away anyday - almost worth joining Godfathers Ho Train and slipping into a thong and bra to go to ringside! Gone is the hair, but he is getting the heat he needs to make a go of things!
