Name: Christopher Irvine
D.O.B.: November 9th 1970
Resides: Orlando FL.
Chris may have been born in New York City, but his father Ted Irvine was from Winnipeg. Due to Ted Irvine's job (He played Ice Hockey for The Kings, The Rangers and The Blues from '67 - '77), the family moved around, but in the off season, the family always returned to Winnipeg.
Chris went to Red River Community College and took a course in Journalism. After graduating, Chris went to Calary and was trained for 3 hours a day for 2 months before setting off into the big wild world of wrestling.
Chris came up with the name Jericho from looking in The Bible and from an album by the band Helloween called Walls of Jericho. Chris came up with the name 'Lion Heart', as he knew fans in Mexico and Japan might not be able to pronounce the 'J' in Jericho. The name 'Lion Heart' came around as all the guys he use to watch in Japan all had the name of an animal (Black Tiger, Wild Pegasus, Too Cold Scorpio, Jushin Liger etc. etc.), and as a Junior Heavyweight, he thought he had to have the name of an animal, so came up with the name 'Lion Heart' for Mexico and Japan (Coraziòn de Léon - in Mexico)
Chris has worked in may wrestling companies - ECW, WWF, WCW, WAR, USWA, FMW, EMLL. He has been on over 30 tours of Japan!
Chris prepares for his matches by; thowing a few kicks etc., getting himself into the right frame of mind for the match, saying a little prayer. He always paces before a match for at least 10 minutes before getting out there, and he usually doesn't talk to anyone just before a match.
